Thousands of users seek a Class Action Fixodent Lawsuit against the Denture Cream manufacturer due to the neurological damage done by constant use of the product.  These users claim that they were over exposed to zinc, an active ingredient in many denture creams.

Just last month a class action lawsuit was filed by a Sacramento Lawyer in the name of all his clients who have been injured by Procter & Gamble’s denture cream Fixodent. Fixodent, which has had zinc as an ingredient since the 90’s, has been known to be toxic in large amounts, causing nerve damage, lifelong disability, and even death because of the amounts of zinc placed in the denture cream.

The same lawyer states that “Our clients are in walkers, they’re in wheelchairs, places they never thought they would be. We have three clients that have passed away since we started litigating.” While another plaintiff Sandra Hankinsfrom Arkansas who used Fixodent to secure her dentures said that, “I thought I was going to die because my body was shutting down.” Also this lawyer doesn’t only want compensation for its clients, the lawyer is also hoping that this class action lawsuit finally makes Procter & Gamble remove zinc from Fixodent’s formula.

Poligrip, made by drug manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline, like Procter & Gamble, have been targeted by Fixodent lawsuits as well. However unlike Procter and Gamble, GlaxoSmithKline has already begun to remove zinc from several of its products. When asked why they came out with this decision now GSK announced that become aware of potential health problems associated with the long-term excessive use of our zinc-containing denture adhesive products.”

Procter and Gamble still argue that Fixodent and other denture creams are still safe to use in moderation and used as directed. “The amount of zinc an average denture adhesive user would ingest from daily usage of Fixodent is less than the amount of zinc in most daily multi-vitamins and comparable to 6 oz. ground beef,” said P&G representative Tricia Gottlieb.

Please always remember that the drug manufacturers are responsible for warning their customers about the potentially deadly side effects of taking this drug. When they do not and fail to warn you about the side effects of you are entitled to your rights.
